Due to the ongoing and ever-changing strategy around COVID-19, the 2021 festival season is still unknown in terms of what kind of events will be permitted.
At time of writing (21st Jan 2021) we are continuing to plan for the event in August. We are currently carrying out the essentials from our ‘business-as-usual’ planning cycle in order for us to be able to step things up dramatically if/when the timeline becomes clearer. Our current main focus is to ensure we consider all safety and safeguarding measures required for public, crew, contractors and suppliers, artists and performers and those who live in the surrounding area, in all of our operational plans and processes.
The current landscape is ever-changing with new technologies and advancements happening at an incredible rate, so thankfully our timeline gives us a few months breathing space before we have to make any major decisions. In this time we will continue to work with our partners and colleagues at local and national level including government departments, to ensure we are as informed as possible as to what the summer will look like and the feasibility of being able to put on a show of Boomtown’s scale.

Public and crew safety is paramount and every element of the festival will be impacted by new safety protocols. Currently, we are working closely with all our partners at a national and local level, so that all decisions regarding festivals in 2021 are made by the right people and at the right time.
Right now, it’s impossible to announce exactly what COVID safety measures will be in place in August because the situation remains ever-evolving. Being part of the conversation and contributing to the future of the festival industry at a national and local (Hampshire) level is key for Boomtown. Since March 2020 we’ve been heavily involved with industry-wide and government working groups to help create and develop working policies, guidance and procedures to ensure industry-wide safety protocols and measures for the 2021 season

If Boomtown 2021 is postponed will my ticket still be valid?
Yes, if you have a ticket it will be valid for the next instalment of Boomtown, whenever that may be. Please see the T&Cs here for more information.
If Boomtown 2021 is cancelled due to COVID will I be able to get a refund?
In the event of Boomtown being cancelled due to COVID, you will be eligible for a refund. You can find the full details on our cancellation policy in clause 1.5A of our T&Cs.
Can I get ticket insurance?
You can take out ticket insurance with Booking Protect. Please note you can only buy this at the point of purchase, unfortunately this is only available for new ticket purchases and cannot be added to previous bookings. Please refer to Booking Protect for full T&Cs.

Will you require a vaccine to attend?
The introduction of the vaccine is welcome news. At the moment we, the festival industry and the government are exploring the impact of this on the festival season. These conversations are in very early stages and as soon as we have an update we will let you know via our website, newsletters and social media channels.

What are you going to do about social distancing regulations?
It’s still not clear what will be required by August, so it is too early to go into detail over any social distancing regulations and whether that is a workable option at a festival. The health and safety of our attendees is our top priority and we will release a full update regarding all our COVID safety measures as soon as it is appropriate.
Will there be a higher standard of hygiene facilities eg. Hand sanitiser points and handwashing facilities etc
