Wednesday 24th February 2021:
After the PM’s update on 22/02/21, it feels like the whole country collectively breathed an almighty sigh of relief, got our diaries out and started planning for post lockdown life to return! With spring in the air, it feels freedom is within reach!
From a Boomtown point of view, whilst the statement was of course incredibly welcomed, the path to us 100% going ahead is still filled with some uncertainty, but we too have taken a whole heap of hope and optimism from the announcement. The light is most certainly shining brighter over our summer today, in contrast to last week.
We were so humbled by the unbelievable amount of you who bought tickets and shared your excitement at this glimmer of hope we’ve all had for a much-needed summer of festivals in real life this year.
We wish we could shout from the rooftops with certainty, but we’re not quite there yet, and we can say the biggest thank you for your continued support, and whatever happens, we will try our very, very hardest to be able to bring our incredible community back together this year.
All further updates and announcements on the impact of COVID-19 with regards to the 2021 festival will be released here as soon as it is appropriate and our FAQs will be added on an ongoing basis.
If you have any specific questions that are not answered below; please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be in touch directly.
Public and crew safety is paramount and every element of the festival will be impacted by new safety protocols. Currently, we are working closely with all our partners at a national and local level, so that all decisions regarding festivals in 2021 are made by the right people and at the right time.
Right now, it’s impossible to announce exactly what COVID safety measures will be in place in August because the situation remains ever-evolving. However, we are continuing to look at all eventualities including the below. If you would like to see the full breakdown of the latest recommended festival guidelines that have been produced collaboratively by the festival industry, then check out The Purple Guide.

Since March 2020 we’ve been heavily involved with industry-wide and government working groups to help create and develop working policies, guidance and procedures to ensure industry-wide safety protocols and measures for the 2021 season
Industry groups include:
