Pride And The Park

This pride month, we wanted to shine a light on some of the amazing LGBTQIA+ groups, collectives and services available to those in the communities who surround our home the South Downs National Park.

BREAKOUT YOUTH

Breakout Youth is an independent charity based in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. They offer a confidential support service for young people aged 11 to 25, who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or unsure of their sexuality or gender identity.

At Breakout Youth, you will find a group of likeminded young people that you can socialise with safely. They run confidential youth groups based in Southampton, Basingstoke, Andover, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight.

OTS BRIGHTON 

Out To Swim Brighton & Hove is an LGBTQ+ and allied Masters Swimming Club based in Brighton & Hove. They are a group of sociable LGBTQ+ swimmers who swim for fun, for fitness and/or to compete. They provide a friendly environment for those who enjoy the social side of being part of a sports club.

BLAGSS

BLAGSS is a sports and social group that now has around 470 LGBTQIA+ members from across Brighton and Hove, Sussex and beyond.

‍

Their aim is to encourage LGBTQIA+ people and allies to play sports and make new friendships in safe places. It's as simple as that. Sport is so important because health, fitness and wellbeing is such a vital part of our lives.

GAY OUTDOORS CLUB

The Gay Outdoor Club operates throughout Great Britain and provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports and recreational activities for LGBTQIA+ people.

‍

They are a friendly, active group and always welcome newcomers. Their walks cover the beautiful landscape around the south coast, South Downs and weald of Sussex.

WINCHESTER QUEER EVENTS INSTAGRAM

Head over to their Instagram page and join them at their next meet up; a safe LGBTQIA+ social space in Winchester for over 18s. Often meeting at The Railway Inn for drinks and food.
