Walkabout Application
Boomtown is the largest interactive theatre in the world, a place where we can imagine new versions of ourselves, new futures for ourselves, try new realities on for size and become what we’ve always dreamed of becoming. We are looking for performance groups who wish to populate the fictional parallel universe of Boomtown. We welcome applications from experienced companies as well as those just starting out.
We are looking for district themed walkabouts which embody the 2026 theme 'Radical Redesign'.
Radical Redesign asks us to question how we live, what we value, and what needs to be reimagined from the ground up to build a better world beyond Boomtown. At the 2026 fair, we aim to provide opportunities for our audience to;
Rethink: Stop the rush and remember our power. In a world of high consumption, is the path we’re on leading to joy, or just more "stuff"?
Revisit: Look to the roots. What forgotten wisdom and local connections have we lost in the name of convenience that we need to bring back to the hearth?
Reconnect: Strip away the digital noise and the "us vs. them" politics. Reconnect with nature and each other to find the solidarity needed to move forward.
Rebalance: Move toward a society geared for human dignity and shared meaning. It is enough to try; every small shift helps rebalance power and peace for the long term.
Please submit your Walkabout and Sideshow idea by the 6th May 2026
Make sure you hit 'submit' on the final page!

Thrutopia Workshop Applications
After an incredible first year; wonderful connections made, inspiring teachings and endless creativity; Thrutopia will be returning and we'd love to hear from you.
The concept of Thrutopia has been inspired by conversations our creative team has had with the inspiring author Manda Scott. Here’s a brief introduction to her teachings on Thrutopias.
Imagine waking up excited for the day because life feels full of possibility. For many people, that kind of joy feels out of reach. We live in a world shaped by stress, fear, and systems that don't work for most people or the planet.
But it hasn't always been this way. Across history, some communities chose to live more fairly, more creatively, and more in harmony with nature. We've just stopped telling those stories.
Now, with climate change and rising inequality, it's clear we need a new direction. And stories are one of the most powerful ways to show what's possible. They help us imagine a future that's better for everyone.
If we want real change, we need stories that inspire it, and anyone can be part of that. It starts with imagining something better.
If you have a workshop idea that resonates with this district, we'd love to hear from you.
The deadline for applications is the Friday 30th January 2026
