Boomtown's Opening & Closing ceremonies are true wonders of the festival world! It is the first and last chance to dance as we bookmark the latest chapter of our ever-evolving story. Taking time to reflect on the wisdom learnt and memories created during our five-day adventure.

Boomtown

The story

This year saw the return of The Lion’s Den, the rise of The Network Assembly as Boomtowns leaders, and the building of Boomtown Hall. It seemed a new era was dawning, and paradise was visible on the horizon as The Network set about Boomtown’s Radical Redesign.

When all seemed set for utopia, progress was halted, as the city's vision of the future became split. Whilst the Network discussed ideas to build the life of our dreams on earth, BBXL™ 's space programme instead promoted abandoning earth entirely in pursuit of a luxury life in space.

The Network discovered that the space programme was draining the city's resources and destroying its ecosystem, but ultimately, with less money or friends in high places, their campaign to stop BBXL™ failed and the rocket launched at The Closing Ceremony of the Fair.

But just as BBXL™ celebrated its successful launch, piloted by CEO’s Mr Biga and Aurora Venturestone, the space mission was hacked by a group called Bill Tops, who announced over the airways…

"We have taken over mission control

We have reclaimed your hoarded wealth

We will redistribute everything

equally, to every district

This is our world

Utopia belongs to us"

Mr Biga and Aurora were last seen raging into an intercom, their rocket continuing its trajectory to Mars.

Will Aurora and Biga ever return? Who are Bill Tops? What on earth comes next?

Thrutopia

Thrutopia is an all new area in Boomtown. It’s a chance to stop and charge your batteries. Taking this moment away is the best way to get the most out of your experience.

The retreat

Formerly The Rookery. Radically redesigned for Chapter Five.

In the heart of Boomtown Festival, where the noise of the city meets the stillness of intention, something new has taken root.

The Retreat: a sanctuary built for restoration, craft, and the kind of deep breath you didn't know you needed.

This is not a break from the festival. This is part of it. A space designed to hold you when the intensity peaks, when your body asks for something softer, when your mind craves quiet, or when your hands want to make something that lasts longer than the weekend.

What Awaits You

Heat. Water. Touch. Sound. Craft.

The Retreat brings together professional massage therapy, holistic treatments, communal saunas, hot tubs, sound baths, breathwork, artisan workshops and festival beauty - all in one curated sanctuary.

Cloak of Hope

Cloak of Hope

The Cloak of Hope is growing and it needs your hands!

In 2024, hundreds of people stitched their hopes into fabric patches. Together, those patches became a living, collective piece of imagination.

But the Cloak is not finished. We are inviting you to stitch your hope into it...

What does your future look like?

What world do you want to wake up in?

What world do you want to leave behind for generations to come?

Create a patch (ideally from recycled materials), between 10x10cm and 15x15cm. Fill in the form on the News section of our website and post it to:

Boomtown Festival,

Mailbox 308,

QDBC House,

67-83 Norfolk Street,

Liverpool,

L1 0BG.

Every patch will be documented and sewn onto the Cloak of Hope, which will be featured at Boomtown 2027.

Not ready to make one yet? You will have the chance to stitch yours at Boomtown Chapter Five: Radical Redesign this August. Submission will close mid-September!
