We’re making short documentary, which focuses on our journey over the last decade. It includes the inner workings of how the festival comes together, the communities that help create it and a glimpse into what the future holds… but where would this be without you?!
Rising from where the Chinatown skyline once dominated; we can now introduce the flashing lights of futuristic Metropolis with Pagoda Plaza as the new main stage for house lovers! No corner of dance inspired globe has been left behind, as some of the most legendary party starters takeover every day:
Premier West Country party purveyors Alfresco Disco and their residents will be hosting the opening celebrations for a Thursday takeover; Sulta Selects will pick up the reins on Friday with a soulful meld of techno, disco and house sounds supplied by fierce femmes such as; NTS top selector Moxie and Chicago’s own Honey Dijon.
Saturday will see a massive welcome to one of the UK’s longest running and widely respected club nights Bugged Out with a special appearance from one of the UK’s most loved actors Idris Elba, who will be trading film sets for the Hampshire hills for a rousing superstar DJ set. Versatile tech-house will be supplied by nu-disco duo Simian Mobile Disc and trademark deep funk to be expected from Purple Disco Machine. Closing the new arena for the 2018 show will be Boomtown favourite Eats Everything and his label Edible, spearheading a stomping 3 hour back-to-back with Philadelphian techno maestro Josh Wink.
Metropolis is the technological hub of our make-believe world with micro venues such as festival favourites Dubtendo, mystery dispensary Little Pharma, fairground fun from BUMP Roller Disco and Digital Fun Fair as well as the big bosses over at Bang Hai Technologies populating the glowing streets. LED lights flash subversive adverts to all wanderers, showcasing some of the fictional conglomerate of Bang Hai Industries’ high-tech advancements whilst preserving some of the nostalgic foundations of this upgraded area.
