This is the playlist is for all ska stomping punk lovers, kicking off with The Specials, be ready to hear ska like you never have before with a musical journey that will leave you wanting more.
There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this genre packed playlist,a true reflection of the brilliant diversity that can be found in the Wild West where the only thing that matters is whether you've dusted off your dancing shoes! Home of bluegrass, folk, and world to bassline, this district is for leg shaking do-si-do-ers, and midnight party people alike!
Trenchtown's celebration of Jamaican music and soundsystem culture is at the heart of Boomtown, with its musical influence heard across the entire festival. Going from strength to strength over the past few years, reggae music has had an exciting resurgence of conscious, organic music, dubbed the ‘Reggae Revival’, elevating the scene to the strongest it’s been in years. Alongside the line ups authentic founding fathers, we'll also be hosting some of the most prolific new-wave reggae acts from Jamaica.
Jazz is at the forefront of Whistlers Green's main stage, The Windmill this year featuring not one, but four, Mercury Prize nominees! The line up is a serious representation of the current wave of new musicians taking the genres to pastures new, opening it up to a whole new generation of converted Jazz fans!
A capitalist wonderland, Mayfair's backdrop of Vintage Remix, Funk & Soul and Electro Swing is the soundtrack to highly theatrical characters, costumes and fun. Acts representing Mayfair include; independent French producer Wax Tailor, festival favourites 10 piece live outfit Smerins Anti-Social Club, Sam & The Womp’s trumpet and vocal Balkan electronica and Bordeaux beatmakers Smokey Joe & The Kid.
Brass sections and party time Polka's are never far away with sounds from Sweden to Central America via the furthest reaches of Eastern Europe in the Oldtown district which Balkan beats are made to rule feet.
Our carnival inspired district presents a cornucopia of global culture with a music which complements the vibrancy of its interweaving streets perfectly with the best in alternative bass. No part of underground culture is left behind; from house to techno, funky to bashment, trance to soca, this is for the party lovers.
Since the disappearance of the Masked Man, Boomtown's huge nuclear facility, Sector 6, has been in a state operational shutdown with no sign of life...this is about to change. Some of the dirtiest bassline, jungle, drum & bass and ragga.
Our futuristic district contained in a neon underworld of bass where the weird get wild and nothing is out of bounds. Leave all preconceptions behind; beats switch between drum & bass, techno and jungle with ease.
