How much does it cost?

Your cycle experience can be purchased in conjunction with a Public Transport Saver ticket which gives you a discount from the normal ticket price and includes your free Wednesday access or you can add it to a standard ticket at a later date!

The Routes

Bristol to Boomtown. The ride takes in the Roman city of Bath, the Kennet & Avon canal, rural Wiltshire, the rolling hills of the Wessex Downs and some of Hampshire’s most picture perfect villages.

London to Boomtown. Going out via the Wandle Valley and pretty Morden Hall Park, our route takes us through the more forgiving parts of the Surrey Hills with just one significant climb up to Leith Hill, the second highest point in South East England.  On a clear day, the views from Leith Hill Tower are magnificent. The route then cuts across the South Downs National Park, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Red Fox Cycling team have hand-picked beautiful, rural campsites for both rides. The cost of your tent pitch is included in the ride price. You can either bring your own tent and pitch it when you arrive at the campsite or, from just £10, Red Fox Cycling can sort you out a 'comfy upgrade'. This means they'll provide one of their own tents and pre-pitch it so it's waiting for you as you arrive at the campsite, complete with air mat and travel pillow. They'll even take it down for you in the morning. You'll be able to book these upgrades in Spring 2019.

Both campsites have toilets and hot showers and you'll have access to your bags and equipment when you arrive at the campsite.

The Red Fox Cycling team have both lunches and breakfast covered.  It will be served ‘road side’ out of the support van, in quiet spots with lovely views. The support van will also set up little roadside snack and recharge breaks along the route so you can refuel.

Dinner on Tuesday night will be self-funded. The Red Fox team will either book a table for the group in a local country pub or, if the weather allows it, they'll serve up a delicious BBQ and drinks in our campsite!

We aim to arrive early evening on Wednesday 7th August by 5:30pm. You’ll be able to lock up your bicycle in the secure Boomtown bike park and then we will then hand back your bags and camping equipment.

Every rider will get free Wednesday entry, a hot shower at Boomtown Springs, an official Boomtown festival programme and a drinks voucher which can be redeemed at the bars on site.

The Boomtown team will provide a secure bicycle park on the Boomtown site. This will be near West Gate. Though this area has 24-hour security, we recommend you bring a strong lock to secure your frame and wheels. The Red Fox team will bring extra cable locking to provide added security.

People can either jump in with a friend who is already driving back – or join a dedicated cyclists coach back to London or Bristol on Monday morning. Our support van will travel back with the coach and transport bikes back for people who need it. This option costs an extra £20 (to Bristol) or £17.50 (to London). Make sure you book the 'Return Coach and Bike Transfer' option at checkout.

Both rides are ‘moderately’ difficult and you’ll need to be capable of cycling 45 miles per day.

The Bristol ride is relatively flat though there are some moderate climbs as we cross the Wessex Downs.

The London ride is hillier, with notable climbs in the Surrey Hills and the South Downs National Park. Riders from London should be comfortable with moderately intense but frequent climbs. In both cases, there’ll be plenty of breaks, very supportive and friendly guides and we’ll structure the day to keep it fun and relaxing.

We ask that you limit your luggage to 1 x 20kg bag and tent.

For those travelling by train, rides will start at Bristol Temple Meads (for the Bristol ride) and Wandsworth Town (for the London ride), both major and well-connected railway stations. Bicycles can be booked onto National Rail services free of charge.

If this still doesn't work for you, the Red Fox team will be offering a 'Flex Luggage' service. For a small fee, you'll be able to drop off your bicycle or bags at a central storage location the day before the ride. More information about this will follow in Spring 2019.
