There are so many ways for our local community to travel to the festival at the Matterley Estate in August.

Audience travel accounts for about 80% of a festival’s total carbon footprint. Help us reduce our impact on our environment and consider a greener travel option.

We’d love people to come to Boom Village on their bikes and we’re pleased to see there’s already a lot of you interested in arriving by this method! We’ll have ample bike lock up space on site and we’re looking at putting on a special guided ride from the local area, so stay tuned for more details as well as specific routing information.

We’ll be running a shuttle from Winchester for those of you who are travelling by coach or train or who live locally. Tickets can be purchased in advance through our ticketing system for hourly arrival and departure slots.

Since the festival is bordered by two main A roads walking to the festival site is not advised. However, if you are very local to the event site and can easily access the South Downs Way, a pedestrian route for access will be set up from the South Downs Way near Cheesefoot Head. Please do not walk to Boom Village via any other route.

If you’re getting a lift to Boom Village please use our specific pick up / drop off area, we’ll send specific directions nearer the time. DO NOT drop off on the main roads, this is dangerous and you will be moved on. Please also be respectful of our local neighbours!

If you’re planning to drive to Boom Village you’ll need to purchase a car park pass. Specific routing instructions will be issued with your ticket nearer to the festival. Please DO NOT follow your sat nav or the directions you’re used to. The car park will be in a different location for Boom Village and we don’t want you getting lost. Consider lift sharing to lessen your environmental impact, and to make some new friends!
