A four-day, camping festival for a few thousand of our local community with amazing artists playing across beautifully handcrafted stages celebrating music styles from across the spectrum.
Boom Village will take place in Matterley Estate, a working dairy farm in the most westerly point of South Downs National park, nr Winchester.
Boom Village will take place between 12th-15th August 2021.
We want to use this opportunity to put on an event that is representative of the local area we are so lucky to be part of. Boom Village is for anyone who lives in our wider local area and around South Downs National Park.
Boom Village is hosted by the creators of Boomtown Festival.
The Matterley estate is a green-field site and Boom village will utilise the ‘Hilltop’ area and neighbouring woodland, plus the surrounding fields.
We hope to release a map of the site closer to the event date.
Boom Village takes place in the Matterley Estate which is a green field site and it can be challenging for everyone. It covers a hilly area and the site and walking routes are mostly grass, which can become muddy in wet weather. For more information on the services we have available please see our Accessibility page where you will find all further information and FAQs.
Boom Village welcomes families bringing teens or children with them. All teens must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 30 or over throughout the duration of the festival. Unaccompanied teens cannot attend Boomtown.

More information on this will follow in the coming months.
The legislation regarding smoking inside public places applies to tented venues in the same way it does at your favourite club or pub. You will be asked to finish your cigarette (including e-cigarettes) outside if caught smoking in a tented area.
As with most festival sites, phone signal tends to be a bit hit and miss. There are no payphones onsite so it's best to do things the old fashioned way and plan a pre-arranged meeting spot.

Please do not walk to Boom Village via any other route.
Yes you can. If you are planning to drive yourself to Boom Village remember to book a car parking pass in advance for your vehicle. We would strongly recommend car sharing if you’re coming by car - It’s not only less environmentally impactful but also makes the journey cheaper.

We do have a drop off and pick up point. However, we are asking everyone who is thinking of being dropped off and / or picked up after the festival by a friend or family member to rethink this as a travel option... Being dropped off or picked up doubles the amount of journeys to and from site which increases carbon emissions and adds unnecessary traffic to the network, which slows down entry time for you and everyone else. The drop off point will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Boom Village opens on Thursday 12th August. Gates open on Thursday at 1pm and close at 9:30pm.
On Friday through to Sunday the gates are open from 10am and close at 9.30pm. You can leave the site at any time, but will not be able to re-enter after 9.30pm until 10am the following day.
The car parks will open at midday on Thursday and 10 am Friday - Sunday and close at 9pm sharp, so make sure you have plenty of time to arrive before they close.
The site needs to be vacated by midday on Monday 16th August. Please make sure you are all packed up and on your merry way home by then.
Boom Village is an outdoor festival. Please pack accordingly, bring all necessary provision (within reason and bearing in mind the entry conditions and restricted items).
Only bring what you can afford to lose and what you can carry from the gates to your campsite. Work out what you're sleeping in and what you will need to keep warm and dry and only bring what you think you will need for the weekend. And please, please, please only bring things that you are going to take home with you.
We have loads of food stalls and bars throughout the festival so there is no need to rely on pot noodles and cold beans for the whole weekend!
You may bring up to 16 x 440ml cans of lager/cider/beer OR 17 x 250ml cans of premix spirit drinks OR a 3-litre box of wine OR 7 litres of cider/lager/beer in plastic bottles or cans.
Due to licence conditions no glass is allowed on site and will be confiscated at point of entry. Unopened plastic bottles are allowed, but if the seal is broken these will also be confiscated at the gates as we cannot allow unidentifiable substances onto the festival site. No re-entry with alcohol also applies
Of course! As long as you can store it safely, then feel free to bring your own food.
Camping stoves using small, disposable gas canisters are permitted. Please only bring enough for your needs over the weekend. Excessive quantities may be confiscated. In the event of very hot weather / dry ground conditions, we reserve the right to prohibit the use of camping stoves for safety reasons.
If you have a small camping stove with you, please read the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure you are using it correctly and ensure the gas valve is OFF when changing the gas. NEVER EVER use a gas stove inside a tent.
Open fires, BBQs and candle flares are strictly forbidden for safety reasons.
As pretty as twinkling tea-lights can be, they are very dangerous in a camping situation with all those flammable tents around. A torch or electric lantern is much better and far brighter.
No. Small personal speakers are allowed but we would ask you to be considerate of your fellow campers with them. The campsites are patrolled for rogue systems, which will be confiscated and you run the risk of being ejected from the site, which we really don't want to happen!
Sorry, it is against our licence terms to have animals on site. Should you arrive with your dog/cat/goat/hamster etc... you will be refused entry to the site, so please leave your furry friends at home. Only assistance dogs are allowed, if you need to bring an assistance dog with you please see our Accessibility information.
Please do not bring fireworks, glass containers, potential weapons, portable laser equipment including laser pens or any illegal or offensive items. This is a family friendly event and antisocial or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in you being ejected from the site, or worse, arrested.
Boom Village will be offering the best of the best food traders, ranging from pizzas to juicy burgers, falafels to curry. All traders will be offering a fully vegetarian/vegan menu, we promise you won’t be disappointed!
We are very excited to announce that Boom Village is going to be a completely vegetarian festival! A huge focus of Boom Village is sustainability, really digging deep on how, as a festival we can reduce our carbon footprint. Whilst researching all the possible changes we could make to improve this, we could not deny the devastating effects that meat production and fishing has on the environment. Therefore it seemed like a no-brainer to trial an event that is entirely vegetarian.
Yes, if you wish to bring meat or fish products to eat you are very welcome to do so.
From midday on Thursday, to Monday Midday.
