AREA 404 General FAQ's
AREA 404 is a permanent creative music and theatrical events venue in Bristol, UK. Made up of five rooms, this theatrically lead dystopian complex hosts the whole specturm of musical genres that soundtrack Boomtown Fair's mainstages. From high-energy live music to reggae, techno, house, DnB and disco, there's a night for every citizen.

AREA 404 Admissions & Tickets
No. Only persons aged 18 or over may enter AREA 404. Our age policy can be accessed via the AREA 404 terms and conditions.
Yes! Please be aware that if you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25 you will be asked to prove your age both at entry but also at the bar tenders discretion.
You will have already received our ticket via email. All further venue information will follow from AREA 404 via the newsletters.
Download your ticket on to your phone so that the door staff can scan the QR code. Remember you must bring your ID and it must match the name on the ticket.
You will need photographic ID for entrance to the venue. Anything with PASS hologram on will be suitable. We won’t be able to accept photocopies or out of date documentation.

(iii) A Ministry of Defence Form 90 (Defence Identity Card)
(iv) A photographic identity card bearing the national Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram
(v) A national identity card issued by a European Union member state (other than the United Kingdom), Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, or
(vi) A Biometric Immigration Document.
Please be aware that there will be a body and bag search when you arrive.
Ticket Fairy has a secure method to resell your ticket. Please do not buy or sell Boomtown Halloween tickets privately or via third party platforms.
There is an official 'Sell Ticket' button in your order on The Ticket Fairy website that you can use to transfer tickets securely. This is the only way for buyers to purchase tickets safely as the transaction is handled by Ticket Fairy and a fresh ticket is issued in your name. This gives you a choice of transferring a ticket to someone specific or just to someone on the waiting list. You can find the full instructions here.
No, you can’t directly swap your ticket to another day. However, you can add yourself on to the waiting list for another day. If you manage to buy another ticket for another night you can then use the Ticket Fairy resale option to request to sell your original ticket. However, please note that this is not a guarantee. There is no re-entry to the event once you have left the premises.
Yes, but please note that anything that can be used as a weapon will not be allowed into the venue, that includes any imitation weapons and water pistols. This is at the discretion of security.

Please be aware that we will need to identify your face underneath your costume, so we can match you to your ID. If you’re clearly under 25 and we can’t confirm it’s you, you will be asked to step out of the queue so we can clarify it’s you.
Please remember to choose ethical costumes and lessen your impact on the environment by

No, AREA 404 is a warehouse venue with areas both inside and outside.
AREA 404 is open between 8pm - 4am.
No, cash is not accepted. You will need to pay via card for all purchases.
Yes, all cards are accepted.
Yes, the secure cloakroom is located next to the ticket office and costs £2 per item.
Yes, cloakrooms will have limited facilities for small bags on a first come first serve basis.
No, payment is by card.
Yes, there is Boomtown merchandise available. You can purchase it from the main bars.
You can, but we advise to use your phone away from the dancefloor, and immerse yourself in the experience at hand rather than your phone.
Yes, there is food available. There will only be a vegan and vegetarian option. There will be no cash payment options.
Yes, as long as it is empty when you arrive.
Yes, every bar has a water point.
AREA 404 Travel
There is a designated drop off / pick up area for all taxis. If you let the driver know the postcode BS2 0YA and that there is a signposted and fully stewarded area for drop off where taxis can safely pull in.
The closest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. You can get a taxi from the station that takes approximately 10 minutes.
We would advise getting the bus to Bristol Temple Meads and getting a taxi from there.
No, please don’t drive your vehicle here, there are no parking facilities available.
Please do not walk. The venue is in an industrial estate and the road we are situated on is extremely busy and dangerous for pedestrians.

AREA 404 Accessibility
Yes! It is.
Yes, the main gate, internal venue spaces, courtyard, toilet facilities, bars and food vendors all have step free access. The only area with stepped access is the viewing mezzanine in the main room.
Yes, these are locked to ensure cleanliness. A toilet key can be signed out from the box office (£5 deposit).
- 2 x wide access compost toilets in the courtyard
- 1 x flushing wide access toilet in the main event room.
A 1-to-1 hearing loop will be situated at the box office for opening, moving to the lowered counter section of the main bar for the duration of the event.
The main room will include a viewing platform, the smaller outer buildings will have designated viewing areas at the front of stage.
Lowered counter sections are available at all ground level bars and the cloakroom.
Blue badge parking can be reserved next door to the venue. Spaces are allocated on request, so please let us know if you need this before you arrive.
Yes, you can request a Personal Assistant ticket to any of our events by contacting email@example.com. We agree PA tickets in advance and will ask to see a copy of entitlement letters for higher or middle rate PIP, or any form of DLA. Credibility cards, doctors notes and other evidence will also be considered.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 1 week before attending our events to give us time to action your requests. If you have any specific access needs that you feel are not accommodated by our existing facilities - we will happily look into what adjustments we can make to improve this.
AREA 404 Welfare and Drugs Policy
AREA 404 has a No Drugs Policy regarding the possession, use or sale of illegal drugs. This includes Nitrous Oxide and all other products banned under the New Psychoactive Substances Act 2016.
