Medical & Welfare
The Medical Welfare tent provide experienced, caring and confidential help for all kinds of practical and personal problems, as well as dealing with lost & found property.
Remember to bring your vital medications and keep them with you.
You can reduce the risk of injury and ill health by:
- only drinking alcohol in moderation
- avoiding activities such as body surfing which can be dangerous for everyone, especially small children
- understanding drug use can be dangerous and cause death
- remembering, if you suffer from hayfever, to bring enough nasal spray, eye drops or antihistamine tablets to last through the event
- bringing earplugs to protect your hearing if you spend long periods in front of loudspeakers
- always practicing safe sex by using a condom. Without one you risk catching diseases such as Gonorrhoea, Syphilis or Chlamydia. Emergency contraception and sexual health advice is available from the welfare tent
- reducing your risk of picking up and spreading germs that cause sickness and diarrhoea by washing your hands before you eat and after you use a toliet
- always cooking food properly and remembering to wash your hands first, and
- drink plenty of water. In hot weather or when you are very active you can dehydrate quickly. Safe drinking water is available from standpipes around the event site and many of the stalls will be selling bottled water.
