Kidz and Workshops
Now more than ever, such a high priority for us and looking back we feel we could have done more for the nippers in the past, so here it is! For 2010 the kids and family camping will have their own field !! No one else is in there we promise!! And even more budget is going into it making it more fun than anything else in the whole wide world ... :-)
WestSide - Story
A performance area, where children can get involved in puppet making and story telling workshops, and also watch puppetry performances and perform their own shows with props and puppets they have made.
Jungle is Massive
Using Creative Kids ultra violet jungle den children can experience their senses playing with the sound pads inside the den, and see the glowing creatures within the UV jungle. Children can also make costumes, masks and animals out of UV materials and see them glow inside the den.
South West Silly Science-
Creative kids put on a performance of silly science and exciting experiments. 4 scientists dressed in lab coats and crazy coloured hair carry out crazy experiments such as large scale explosions cola fountains, rocket launching and making sherbert. This performance invites children to participate in the experiments in front of an audience and then the show ends and breaks into a hands-on workshop where children make slime, rockets and more!
Bristolian Bingo Lounge-
An area with tables and chairs for children and parents to play bingo, hosted by Granny Gertrude calling the numbers ‘legs eleven' and all that. Children and parents can get ‘old and wrinkley ' in the OAP makeover area where there will be opportunities to be painted with wrinkles, grab a walking stick, floral dress and some tweed ready for nice game of Bingo, awful prizes to be won!
Bristol-Zambian Art Exchange -
As part of Creative Kids International Zambian link, Children can create their own costumes using African fabric and UK fabric and scrap materials then catwalk the finished piece on a stage compared/hosted by OTT fashion designers - Darling!!
Boom Town's Got Talent-
Musicians, performers and singers are invited to run this area to host and work with musical instruments and equipment with the aim of holding a childrens talent show each day.
Tiny Tea Room-
A cosy chill out area for parents and children to have a tea and cake or juice/smoothie. Decorated like a tea room inside a house with shady areas outside for the boiling hot sunshine!
Shadow Puppetry-
Inside a blackout tent children make their own 2D Puppets out of black paper and use torches and screens to make up shows and stories, based on Indonesian style puppetry/Indian storytelling of the Ramayana.
Wishing Tree-
A beautiful tree wrapped in brightly coloured African fabric placed in the middle of the field, and over the weekend children are invited to make a wish for ‘Me And My World', raising awareness of children in other countries, loose link with Creative Kids International working in Zambia with street children.
Cheddar Challenge Area
Sporty area working with APE project who have crazy bikes children can cycle around the field on weird and wonderful bikes, also children can pedal the spinning bike and make spin paintings, smoothies and more!
Inflatables/bouncy castle area and inflatable sculptures children can play with.
In 'teepee town' we have workshops in willow weaving, lantern and star making, puppet design / making and dance
