Charlie Brown's Casino
Set behind a cast iron door, hidden in a lowly back alley of the downtown area lies the seedy underworld of Charlie Brown’s. Opening its doors at dusk and throwing out the riff raff at sunrise Charlie Brown plies his seedy trade of gambling and debauchery on the populous of this sin-ridden cesspit. It’s 1920. Jazz is big. Gambling and alcohol are not. Fighting his one man battle to keep the trickle of immorality flowing, Charlie stands alone against the righteous police… not for the love but for the prestige, and the money. And so should you be lucky to find yourself in front of an iron door then please do knock three times and when challenged tell the doorman “it’s ok, I’m a personal friend of Charlie’s” and he’ll welcome you into his seedy den. You walk through the door into a low lit room to be greeted by the man himself or one of his delightful hostesses who will see you to the floor. If cards is your game then fear not for the poker table is the most formidable on site, with anyone free to play against the made men. If you’re not the card shark after dark but lady luck is your temptress, then roulette is yours for the taking.
Charlie Brown is a down and out man about town. He puts like this “I have a man on every door, in every pocket and on every payroll.” The only thing is Charlie likes to talk big but is out of money. His friends frequent the bar but so do all the underworld figures of boom town – fat Nick, Samuel Berg, and crooked detective Rattigan. Join Charlie over the weekend as we see Nick chase his protection dues, Berg send in his cronies and Rattigan try to catch him red handed – yet elusive as ever you can be sure that good ol' Charlie will live to fight another day!
