Recession had hit hard and the residents were in turmoil. Looting and fighting was commonplace. It was not long before a criminal underbelly and black market began to thrive and all the freaks and outcasts from all over the land swarmed to this playground of debauchery.
Boomtowns neo-noir network of streets were chaotic with cars were half buried in the ground. The thoroughfare was flanked by seemingly innocuous shops and flame-spouting lampposts. Occasionally you still saw maniacal horsemen prowling the streets on fire-breathing mechanical steeds. Boomtown was certainly no safe haven.
You would have thought that Boomtown be coming like a ghost town indeed – but oddly bands did still play, and the clubs were far from being closed down. Infact, many of the residents built successful businesses off the back of the annual fair, which was attracting more folk than ever. Not only did the music to soothe their woes and provide a distraction from the poverty and grind of daily life, but it revitalised the economy and injected new life into the desolate, mean streets. Boomtown was once again booming!
