Upbeat Sneakers

Upbeat Sneakers

Upbeat Sneakers are 7 young boys who have already started to prove to people that they can start a party.

2016 was a huge year for this lively young band from the sometimes maligned Welsh Valleys town of Merthyr Tydfil: they played high profile shows supporting Madness, The English Beat and Bad Manners; had their first national radio play on BBC Radio 1; and were A listed on BBC Radio Wales.

Swn festival described Upbeat Sneakers as " Proper ska lifers, despite being a gang of kids from Merthyr Tydfil, Upbeat Sneakers bring rough and fresh bursts of energy and swagger to their chosen genre. Fusing classic Prince Buster style to the kind of boisterousness that the Libertines or Artic Monkeys used to have, it’s ska heaven in a pint glass, like a Wetherspoons on Bond Street, so get stuck right in."
