The Surfin' Birds formed in 2011, gigging relentlessly and releasing a string of electrifying EPs until 2014 when they began the recording of their self-titled debut album. The album combined the styles of 60s guitar pop, R&B, Surf and Rock & Roll with 10 self-penned tracks released in 2016 through the Fuelled By Cider label. Two brothers, Paul (guitar/vocals/harmonica) and Liam (drums) share stage and studio with the strange bass monster known as Squidhead. With several EPs, an album, gigs with The Damned, Slade, The Blockheads, Electric Six, Wanda Jackson,The Buzzcocks and a Scandinavian tour under their belt, the confidence and scope of the group's songwriting and live shows only continues to grow. 2017 is shaping up to be the band's most exiting year to date with a broader musical palette, deeper psychedelic explorations, the re-introduction of a second guitarist, colourful songwriting collaborations, festival appearances, a national tour and a wild new album to look forward to. Original. Exciting. Authentic.
